SCIAC Softball Weekly Release No. 11

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Softball Athletes of the Week in the eleventh week of voting and University of Redlands sophomore shortstop Collette Allen (Sierra Madre, CA) was named the SCIAC Hitter of the Week for the first time this season. 

Collette helped guide the University of Redlands to a series sweep of California Lutheran (9-7, 12-6, 4-3) with her efforts at the plate.  Allen hit .727 across the three games with eight hits, six runs scored, two triples, three homeruns, and five RBI's. She also walked twice, logged a .769 on-base percentage, and a 1.909 slugging percentage. She finished with five extra-base hits and registered 21 total bases including nine in game one of the doubleheader.   

Redlands returns to the diamond this weekend, April 15-16 when they take on the University of La Verne in a three-game series.  They travel on Friday for a single game (3:00pm) before hosting the Leopards for a doubleheader on Saturday (12:00pm/2:00pm).
