First-year Collette Allen Tabbed SCIAC Softball Athlete of the Week in Her Bulldog Debut

First-year shortstop Collette Allen (Sierra Madre, CA) impressed in her collegiate debut with the University of Redlands, resulting in being named the first 2021 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Softball Athlete of the Week.

Despite the Maroon and Gray's losses to No. 8 Concordia University – Irvine, Allen went 3-for-7 at the plate for a .429 average and a perfect 1.000 slugging percentage that included a double and a home run.  Her three-run blast over the fence gave her four RBI on the weekend and propelled Redlands to a 7-5 lead late in the second game against the Eagles.

In the opener, Allen was one of two Bulldogs to record a hit against CUI's ace in the circle.
