It was announced earlier today that senior second baseman Julianne Rodriguez (Thousand Oaks, CA) represented the University of Redlands on the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-West Region Second Team.
In her second season at Redlands, Rodriguez made the most of her opportunities as a speedy and talented leadoff hitter in 39 games played. She led the Bulldogs in multiple categories, including hits with 50, runs with 29, and stolen bases with 26. She produced a batting average of .442, which ranked first among the regular starters on the team, to go along with a slugging percentage of .487 and an on-base percentage of .500.
As a strong middle infielder, Rodriguez supplied 65 putouts and 55 assists while contributing to five double-plays.
One of her best outings came in a 10-7 win over Cal Lutheran University on April 20, as Rodriguez went 3-for-3 at the plate, touched home twice, and stole two bases.
This marks the Bulldogs' first All-Region nod since 2016 and the inaugural such honor under Head Coach Jose Ortega.
