SCIAC Men's Water Polo Weekly Release No. 9

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Men's Water Polo Athletes of the Week in the ninth week of voting and University of Redlands junior defender Alec Abrahamian (Glendale, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

The junior college transfer from Saddleback becomes the fourth Bulldog this season to earn SCIAC Athlete of the Week recognition joining Liam Murphy (Placentia, CA) (2x), Andrew Higginson (San Diego, CA) and Ron Gvishi (Kiryat Tivon, Israel).   

Alec had a big week for the University of Redlands Men's Water Polo team as they went 1-1, which included a 13-11 win over Whittier College and a tight 15-14 loss to Occidental.  Abrahamian made his presence felt offensively totaling seven goals, an assist and a steal across the two games.  Against the Poets he finished with a goal, an assist and a steal and then put up a game high six goals against the Tigers helping the Bulldogs stay in the contest.

Redlands returns to the pool this Wednesday, November 2 when they host California Lutheran University beginning at 7:00pm.
