SCIAC Men's Water Polo Weekly Release No. 4

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Men's Water Polo Athletes of the Week in the fourth week of voting and University of Redlands senior goalie Liam Murphy (Placentia, CA) was selected as the Defensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

He is now the third Bulldog this season to earn SCIAC Men's Water Polo Athlete of the Week recognition joining Ron Gvishi (Offensive) and Andrew Higginson (Offensive).    

Murphy was a stout presence between the posts for the Bulldogs as they picked up a 10-6 win over Chapman University in their SCIAC Opener. He finished with nine saves for a .600 save percentage and grabbed a steal.

Redlands returns to the pool this Thursday, September 29 when they host Ottawa University (AZ) for a non-conference match-up beginning at 6:00pm.
