Jack Mattox earns wild card into ITA Tennis-Point National Summer Championships

REDLANDS, Calif. – After six weeks of play across 26 states, the 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Tennis-Point Summer Circuit Points Race powered by Universal Tennis is now officially in the books and University of Redlands sophomore Jack Mattox of the Men's Tennis Team is in the hunt. 

Mattox, a 10.64 UTR currently sits in a tie for third in the points race with 700 points.  He trails Lachlan Robertson (Portland State University | 1175 points |11.71 UTR) and Teodor Antelj (Newman University | 825 Points | 10.59 UTR), but is locked into a tie with Arthur Neuhaus (Santa Clara University | 700 Points | 12.76 UTR).

Over the summer Mattox won a pair of ITA Events, coming in Portland, OR and Claremont, CA.  This past year he played primarily No. 2 singles for the Maroon and Grey posting a 12-5 singles record.  In doubles he was also solid teaming up with Andrew Yip, Stefan Hester, and Josh Nelson throughout the year hauling in a 9-8 mark.      

With a lot of movement throughout the Circuit, the top five of the Summer Circuit Points Race Standings are now set, solidifying the five men's and women's players who earned wild card berths into the upcoming ITA Tennis-Point National Summer Championships powered by Universal Tennis
