The No. 21 University of Redlands men's tennis team enters the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament as the No. 3 seed and faces No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in the semifinal match on Friday, May 3, at 1 p.m.  The second semifinal pits fourth-seeded Caltech (13-6) at top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (27-1).

With a 13-5 overall mark, Redlands make its inaugural appearance at the conference tournament in the event's second year.  The Bulldogs count on senior Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) to set the tone at No. 1 singles. He adds skill and success to the No. 3 doubles spot with junior Andrew Leahy (Claremont, CA).  Leahy also bolsters the singles lineup with strong play at No. 2.  These two competitors were recently named to the All-Conference teams.

In addition, sophomore Brysl Libao (Redlands, CA) offers consistency and depth as a very successful No. 5 player.  He owns a season record of 16-2, including a 6-1 effort in SCIAC action.  He and junior Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) impress at the No. 1 doubles position with an undefeated record against conference competition.  Overall, the duo owns a 14-2 showing in dual matches this season.

The Bulldogs look forward to avenging their tough 4-5 loss to the Sagehens from April 19.  That decision came down to the final match and could have gone either way. 

No. 18 Pomona-Pitzer (10-13) makes back-to-back appearances at the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Jed Kronenberg competes at the top of the Sagehens' singles lineup and recently earned All-SCIAC honors.  He and Lipscomb have split matches on the year, with Lipscomb winning the most recent showdown at the 119th Ojai Tournament by scores of 6-0, 6-3. 

All-Conference honorees Octave Bellet and Josh Gearou also solidify Pomona-Pitzer's lineup as contributors in singles and doubles.

The winners of Friday's matches move onto the final of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament, which takes place on Saturday at the site of the highest remaining seed.  The tournament champion will secure the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships
