U of R Men's Tennis Enters 2018 Campaign and Indoor Nationals as 11th-Ranked Team in NCAA Division III

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) presented the first NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Rankings of 2018 on Thursday and placed the University of Redlands at No. 11 in the nation.

Following last year's 16-7 overall record, the Bulldogs look forward to the challenges ahead that include at least 11 opponents ranked in the Oracle/ITA Top-40 List, as highlighted by five foes among the top eight.

In addition, the Bulldogs were invited to compete in the 2018 ITA Division III Men's National Team Indoor Championships, which take place at Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN, on February 23-25.  This will be an early test for the Maroon and Gray, as five of the eight participating teams are ranked in the top 10, with all of them among the top 16.  Redlands faces sixth-ranked Washington University of St. Louis (MO) in the opening round of the tournament on the 23rd.

Junior All-American Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) spearheads the talented team at the No. 1 spot in the singles line-up.  During the fall, he won the ITA West Regional Championships to become a two-time All-American and qualify for the ITA Oracle Cup as one of eight singles competitors from around the country.  Furthermore, Lipscomb earned a preseason national ranking of No. 5 in singles, while first-year Cameron Krimbill (Scottsdale, AZ) landed among the best in Division III at No. 42.

Senior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) also brings All-American experience as a highly-effective doubles player who will also enhance the team's singles success.

Redlands looks forward to hosting the annual alumni match on January 27 before opening the competitive spring season with a pair of exhibition matches against Arizona Christian University and Azusa Pacific University on February 3.
