No. 18 Redlands Men's Tennis Clips Concordia Eagles with 8-1 Win

The No. 18 University of Redlands men's tennis team squared off against the Concordia University – Irvine Eagles on Thursday in the Maroon and Gray's first match on Verdieck Courts this season.  The Bulldogs impressed in the non-conference win by taking this one in fine fashion, 8-1.

The top doubles duo of senior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and junior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) got things rolling with an 8-4 victory, before sophomore Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and freshman Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) took down their No. 2 opponents by a score of 8-6.  Seniors Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) and Tom Suchodolski (Amherst, MA) completed the Bulldog sweep with an 8-5 decision at No. 3.

In singles, Wilson jumped on the scoreboard first with his efficient 6-3, 6-1 performance at the No. 2 slot to put Redlands up by a 4-0 advantage.  Ly secured the clinching point for the Maroon and Gray with his 6-4, 6-3 win over his No. 4 counterpart.

Furthermore, freshman Avery Davis (Jensen Beach, FL), Lipscomb, and Suchodolski recorded positive outcomes in their respective singles matches at Nos. 5, 1, and 3 to propel Redlands to an 8-1 final tally. 

Redlands (1-1) heads to UC Riverside on Saturday, February 18, for a 3 p.m. non-conference tilt with the Highlanders.
