The No. 15 University of Redlands men's tennis team returned to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action on Friday by traveling to Orange to square off against the Chapman University Panthers.  The Bulldogs stepped up to sweep the doubles, which set the tone for a dominating singles performance and a 9-0 victory.

Freshman Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and junior Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) initiated the scoring with their 8-5 showing at the No. 2 slot, before the newly-formed top tandem of junior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and freshman Bryant Johnson (Fair Oaks, CA) captured a 9-7 victory.  The No. 3 duo of graduate student Taylor Hunt (Seattle, WA) and sophomore Cooper Lacetera (Westhampton Beach, NY) completed the sweep with an 8-6 decision.

The Bulldogs' success continued in singles, as Ly's No. 2 opponent retired after a set and a game, before Lacetera officially put this one in the books with his 6-0, 6-2 effort at the No. 5 position.

In addition, Wilson, Johnson, Hunt, and Lipscomb each recorded straight-set victories for the Maroon and Gray.

Redlands (16-5, 5-1 SCIAC) celebrates Senior Day on Saturday, April 30, when it hosts the 10th-ranked Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at 10 a.m. on Verdieck Courts.
