The No. 17 University of Redlands men's tennis team traveled to nearby Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Friday afternoon for a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match.  The Bulldogs came up against a formidable opponent and suffered a 1-8 loss to the top-ranked Stags.

Redlands' sole point came at No. 3 doubles, as sophomore Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and freshman Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) edged out their counterparts by a score of 8-6.

In singles, senior Patrick Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and Dulle put up valiant fights against their respective Nos. 1 and 5 foes but lost in straight sets after winning seven games each.  Lipscomb came up short, 6-4, 6-3, while Dulle recorded the same scores but in opposite order.

The Bulldogs (12-7, 3-1 SCIAC) return home to the familiar surroundings at Verdieck Courts for a SCIAC match on Friday, April 10, when they host the No. 31 Kingsmen of Cal Lutheran University at 2 p.m.
