The No. 17 University of Redlands men's tennis team returned to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competition on Friday by hosting the Tigers of Occidental College on Verdieck Courts.  The Bulldogs blanked the visiting team with resounding results at every position for the 9-0 win.

Freshman Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) and sophomore Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) got things rolling with their 8-2 performance at No. 3 doubles, while seniors Gram Leahy (Portland, OR) and Ted Burchett (Gold River, CA) cruised to an 8-4 decision at No. 2.  The Bulldogs' doubles sweep was complete once seniors Nick Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) and Patrick Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) captured an 8-2 victory at the top slot.

The Bulldogs secured the overall triumph with great efficiency, as they won every singles match in straight sets.  Ly took care of business at the No. 6 slot by scores of 6-0, 6-3, while senior Taylor Hunt (Seattle, WA) cruised to a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3.

In addition, Lipscomb, sophomore Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA), Dulle, and Leahy registered two-set victories at their respective spots in the singles line-up.

Redlands (11-5, 2-0 SCIAC) takes on the No. 40 Chapman University Panthers in a 10 a.m. SCIAC match on Saturday, March 28, before challenging the 14th-ranked Ephs of Williams College (MA) at 2 p.m.  Both matches will take place on Verdieck Courts.
