Sophomore Kyle Sharp Named Men's Golf SCIAC Athlete of the Week

For the second consecutive week, a University of Redland's golfer has been named SCIAC Men's Golfer of the Week.

Sophomore Kyle Sharp (Austin, TX) turned in a terrific performance over three rounds at the Coyote Classic on Monday and Tuesday as the top SCIAC finisher amongst a highly competitive field of Division II and III schools.

Sharp led the Maroon and Gray with a tied-for-sixth finish. Despite shooting a 75 over the first 18 holes, he regrouped to later shave off six strokes to shoot a 69 during round two. He ended round three with a 77, shooting a 221 total. Sharp impressed going minus-five on par fives, averaging a 4.58. He also tallied 29 pars, eight birdies, and two eagles.

Redlands men's golf looks forward to hosting the first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) tournament at Tukwet Canyon in Beaumont, CA on Saturday, February 29, and Sunday, March 1.
