No. 16 Redlands Men's Golf Lands the Top Spot at the Tukwet Preview

The University of Redlands men's golf team took on Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) foes, Whittier College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, and the University of La Verne at the Tukwet Preview on Friday. With just one round in the competition, Redlands took the top spot, shooting a 303, eight strokes in front of second place.

Senior Jake Hollander (Peterborough, NH) led all competitors with the lowest score of the day with an impressive, 73. First-year Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) followed close behind with a third-place score of 75.

Seniors Diego Cortes (Santiago, Chile) and Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA) trailed by just a few strokes, shooting a 77 and 78, respectively. Cortes tied for sixth while Cooper tied for 10th.

Finally, sophomore Kyle Sharp (Austin, TX) rounded out the Redlands', first-place squad with an 18 hole total of 82 to tie-for-20th.

Additionally, the Bulldogs brought another set of five golfers who placed sixth. Senior Dylan Merchant (Ellsworth, WI) shined shooting an impressive 74 for second place amongst all competitors.

Redlands men's golf looks forward to competing in the Cal State San Bernardino Coyote Classic on Monday, February 17, and Tuesday, February 18 at the Canyon Crest Country Club in Riverside.
