U of R Men's Golf Enters Fall Campaign Tied-for-22nd in National Rankings

No. 22 ranking art includes Alex Stroes, Cameron Cooper, and Cade Lawson

It was announced late last week that the University of Redlands men's golf team enters the fall of 2018 as a nationally-ranked squad, landing in a tie for No. 22 in the NCAA Division III Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches' Poll.  The Bulldogs share the spot with fellow Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) competitor, University of La Verne.

After missing out on the NCAA Division III Championships last spring, Redlands holds high hopes for a return to the tournament with an experienced and hungry crew.  The team welcomes back the majority of its roster, including senior Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR), who represented the Maroon and Gray at nationals as an individual qualifier.  Last season, the Bulldogs produced an average score of 76.06, with Lawson pacing them with his mark of 74.22.  In addition, senior Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) and junior Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA) strive to put together a strong campaign in 2018-19, as they build upon last year's averages of 75.05 and 75.59, respectively.

With first-year Head Coach Jamie Zantua taking over the reigns, Redlands looks forward to making the next step in the program's success that includes consistent success at the conference and national levels.
