Bulldog Men's Golf Registers Solid Three-Day Total at Del Walker Intercollegiate

The University of Redlands men's golf team battled through tough competition at the 20th Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic on Monday and Tuesday at the Virginia Country Club in Long Beach.  While teeing off against all NCAA Division I foes, the Bulldogs put together their best three-day score of the season with an 875 while finishing in 11th place.

Leading the Maroon and Gray, senior John McCord (Oakland, CA) fired off impressive rounds of 73, 69, and 69 for a 54-hole score of 211, which tied him for 13th-place overall.  During the tournament, he posted an eagle and 36 pars.

Freshman Rowan Foxley (Arlington, WA) served as the Bulldogs' No. 2 golfer with a three-round total of 218 (72-76-70) to tie for 31st.  After hitting 38 pars, freshman Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) closely followed at 222, which was highlighted by his final round of 72.   

Freshmen Travis Winn (Salinas, CA) and Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, CA) registered respective scores of 227 and 232, with Winn impressing in the final round with a one-over-par 73. 

Redlands heads to the Valley Hi Country Club for the Sacramento State Invitational on Monday, March 7, and Tuesday, March 8.
