While competing against eight nationally-ranked teams among the field of 15, the No. 4 University of Redlands men's golf squad captured another first-place showing on Tuesday afternoon.  The Bulldogs rallied from behind to win the West Cup with a 54-hole score of 892.  Leading the charge for the Bulldogs, senior Bobby Holden (Simi Valley, CA) earned co-medalist honors with his three-round total of 214.

With the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) making up the top four of the tournament standings, the Maroon and Gray finished three strokes ahead of 21st-ranked University of La Verne, four strokes better than No. 11 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, and six shots ahead of No. 34 Cal Lutheran University.

On Monday, Holden fired off a round-best 67 during the opening 18 holes but then struggled in round two with a 77 to drop him into second place.  However, he quickly made up the difference with a solid showing throughout the final round, as he signed his scorecard with a 70 to finish tied-for-first in the individual standings.

Junior John McCord (Oakland, CA) moved up two slots on the final day to third place with a 71.  Overall, he was the epitome of consistency with scores of 72-74-71.

Junior Ryan Turner (Ventura, CA) also provided quality marks during the two-day event, completing the par-72 course with rounds of 77-75-76 to tie for 16th place.

Freshman Jake Ryan (Portland, OR) finished just outside of the top 25 with his total of 233 (80-75-78), while junior Matthew Sandoval (Redlands, CA) came off the course with a 241 (81-80-80).

Redlands looks forward to competing against the conference foes at the SCIAC Tournament No. 2 on Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12, at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills.
