The University of Redlands men's golf team returned to action for the spring portion of the season on Monday by teeing off at the 18-hole Mission Cup against three other squads. With a combined score of 382, the Bulldogs finished second behind the host school, UC Riverside, by two strokes. Redlands topped Cal Baptist University (389) and familiar foe, University of La Verne (397).
Individually, seniors Bobby Holden (Simi Valley, CA) and Anthony Estes (San Pedro, CA) collected medalist honors with both players notching an even-par score of 72.
Junior transfer Ryan Turner (Ventura, CA) fired off a round of 77 to tie for 10th in his Maroon and Gray debut, while junior John McCord (Oakland, CA) recorded a 79.
Freshmen Jake Ryan (Portland, OR) and Joseph Kuehn (Eugene, OR) signed their respective scorecards with 82s.
Redlands returns to action on February 21-22 for the opening SCIAC Tournament at Robinson Ranch Golf Couse in Valencia.
