To culminate an illustrious career, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced earlier today that senior forward David Menary (Grass Valley, CA) has been named Second Team All-District for the West.
Menary led the Bulldogs to their first 20-win season since 2012-13. He paced his team with 14.5 points per game on an efficient 46.2% field-goal percentage. In addition to knocking down 1.5 three-pointers per game, he also shot an effective 78.7% from the free-throw line. He also reeled in 4.8 rebounds to go along with his 3.2 assists per game. Defensively, he owned a team-high one block per game and 0.8 steals.
Menary scored his season-high 29 points early in the year against Southwestern University (TX) in the Lee Fulmer Memorial Classic. He also grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds to complete the double-double in an 87-70 win. Within Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action, Menary ended the regular season by averaging 24.5 points to help the Bulldogs clinch the No. 2 seed and a home game in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament Semifinal. He also received All-SCIAC First Team honors for his second consecutive year.
