Barker Tabbed SCIAC Men's Basketball Offensive Athlete of the Week after Career Performance

For the second time this season, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) has named first-year forward Griffin Barker (Kirkland, WA) the conference's Athlete of the Week. This time he won it on the offensive side in a career week in two big games for Redlands.

Barker dominated on the offensive end in a critical 2-0 week for the Bulldogs that put them second in the SCIAC standings. He averaged 29.5 points per game on 67.9% shooting from the field and 72.7% shooting from downtown. He also boasted an 81.3 percent field-goal percentage at the charity stripe to go along with his 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. In an 82-80 victory on the road against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, he scored 23 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field. He then turned in a career night with a 36-point performance against Whittier with a 6-for-9 clip from the perimeter. He also added 11 rebounds and four assists.

For the season, Barker is second on the team with 13.4 points per game and is first on the team in rebounds with 6.2 per game. In the Bulldogs' eight-game win streak, Barker has led the team with 20.6 points per game.
