Sophomore Guard Trevor Baker Represents Redlands Men's Basketball among the All-SCIAC Honorees

It was announced earlier today that sophomore guard Trevor Baker (Phoenix, AZ) of the University of Redlands was named to the All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Second Team for his impressive contributions during his rookie campaign with the Bulldogs.

While starting in all 16 conference games played, Baker competed in 31.2 minutes per contest for an incredible average.  He shot 40.4% from the floor en route to a 37.7% showing from beyond the arc.  While scoring 16.4 points per game, he knocked down 43 three-pointers and 82.7% of his free-throws against SCIAC foes.  He also hauled in 5.9 rebounds per game and dished out 31 assists.  Defensively, he added 26 steals and six blocks to his résumé during conference competition.

Baker's biggest game of the year came on the road on January 24 against Cal Lutheran University, as he converted 10 of his 16 shots that included six buckets from downtown en route to a 33-point night.

Overall, he scored in double figures in 14 of 16 SCIAC games, which included a 12-game streak of 10 or more points.

This versatile contributor also worked to find the open teammate, as highlighted by his six-assist effort against Chapman University on February 2.

Redlands finished the challenging campaign with an 8-17 overall record and a 4-12 conference mark that culminated in an 87-75 win over the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in the final game of the regular season.
