Former Bulldog student-athlete Tommy Garcia ’19 returned to the University of Redlands football program as an assistant offensive line coach prior to the 2019 season. Beyond coaching, he attends the School of Business in pursuit of his Master of Business Administration and works at Esri in Sales Development.

A four-year starting center for the Maroon and Gray, Garcia competed in 38 games and contributed to a pair of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships. He graduated in the spring of 2019 with his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science.

Hailing from Whittier, Garcia made an immediate impact on the Bulldog football team as the 2015 Team Rookie of the Year. As his role increased over the course of his career, he garnered All-Conference Second-Team honors his sophomore season and then First-Team recognition in his final two years with Redlands.

Garcia began coaching because he wants to make a positive impact on others and be a part of something great.

Outside of football, Garcia enjoys music, basketball, hiking, camping, and cooking.
