Equipped with an eclectic knowledge of sports, Bai Kabba rejoined the University of Redlands football staff as an Assistant Coach-Defensive Backs in January of 2021 and moved into a full-time role in July, taking on the responsibilities of video coordinator as the Invert/Safeties coach.  During his first stint with the Bulldogs in 2016 and 2017, Kabba coached the wide receivers for a season and then took over the running backs. In addition to coaching, he received his Master of Business Administration through the School of Business.

Prior to becoming a Bulldog, Kabba graduated from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, with a degree in marketing in 2014. He competed for the North Central football team as a starting wide receiver during the Cardinals’ 2011 season that culminated in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) championship.

In addition, Kabba brings high-caliber track & field experience, as he became a two-time All-American and was part of a three-peat as team national champions at North Central.

Most recently, Kabba assisted the College of Dupage football and track & field teams in Glen Ellyn, IL, before returning to Southern California to work part-time for a tech company and volunteer at the U of R.

Prior to Dupage, Kabba coached the wide receivers of the varsity football team at Batavia High School in Batavia, Illinois.  He also gained versatility by serving as the sophomore girls’ basketball coach.

Kabba hopes to one day become a head coach of a college football team. He coaches because he believes sports have a positive influence on the lives of student-athletes and finds great joy in mentoring, coaching, and helping young student-athletes achieve their academic and athletic goals.

In his spare time, Kabba enjoys playing pick-up basketball, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.
