Tyler Tremain named SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week

SCIAC Football Weekly Release No. 8

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Football Athletes of the Week in the eighth week of voting and University of Redlands first-year quarterback Tyler Tremain (Folsom, CA) was selected as the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.

Tyler becomes the fourth Bulldog this season to earn SCIAC Athlete of the Week recognition joining Evan Aguon (San Diego, CA), Vicente Garcia (Fontana, CA), and Andrew Kellstrom (San Bernardino, CA).

Tremain in just his second start of his collegiate career was instrumental in the comeback for the University of Redlands Football team as they stunned previously SCIAC unbeaten Pomona-Pitzer 27-24 in OT.  Tremain was 21-for-37 for 160 yards (56.8%) and four total touchdowns.  He threw for a pair of scores and then ran the ball 14 times for another 68 yards, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and another two scores, the biggest coming in extra time where he ran in the game-winning touchdown from 27-yards out.

Redlands returns to the field for a big SCIAC Showdown this Saturday, November 5 at 1:00pm when they travel to take on Claremont-Mudd-Scripps with a SCIAC Championship Title on the line.
