Bulldog Football Quartet Secures NFF Hampshire Honor Society Membership

It was announced earlier today that four University of Redlands football student-athletes became members of the 2019 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society by exceeding the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 in their final year of eligibility as significant contributors or starters for the team.

Senior linebacker Jared Emanuele (Norco, CA), senior offensive lineman Andres Garcia (Long Beach, CA), senior offensive lineman Christian Godina (Phoenix, AZ), and senior running back Conner Kennedy (Olympia, WA) represent the Bulldogs among the prestigious list.  They each contributed to the team's successful campaign that culminated in an 8-2 overall record and a share of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title with a 6-1 mark.

A record-breaking 1,643 football players from 424 colleges and universities throughout the country joined the Honor Society in its 13th year.

Emanuele played all 10 games in his final season and tallied 20 tackles, one sack, and one pass breakup as a key contributor on defense.  He looks forward to graduating with a degree in Business Administration.

Garcia and Godina bolstered the offensive line with tenacity and strength.  They helped the squad to convert 50% of its third downs to sit fifth in NCAA Division III.  Garcia will celebrate commencement with a degree in Business Administration.  Godina, who will graduate with a degree in Biology, caps off his four-year career with multiple scholarly awards, including two as a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American.

Finally, Kennedy completed his fourth season with the Bulldogs by registering 1,023 rushing yards for seven touchdowns for a grand total of 1,796 yards and 12 scores over his career.  This Biology major also hauled in 16 catches for 121 yards in 2019.
