The No. 4-seeded University of Redlands baseball team suffered a 2-8 loss to the No. 3-seeded University of La Verne in Saturday's elimination game of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament at Hart Park in Orange County.

After reaching on an error and advancing to third on a single, sophomore left fielder Jonah Advincula (Santa Clara, CA) touched home for the Bulldogs' first-inning run on senior designated hitter Anthony Acosta's (Simi Valley, CA) sacrifice fly.

However, the Leopards put up a crooked number in the bottom of the second to take a 4-1 lead.  They added another run in the fourth before the Bulldogs clawed back with sophomore third baseman Max Clark's (Etiwanda, CA) solo home run over the right-center fence.

But the momentum shifted again, as La Verne tacked on two more in the bottom of the eighth to ultimately send Redlands home with the season-ending loss.

While utilizing its 16 players in multiple positions throughout the campaign, Redlands completes the unusual spring with an overall record of 5-11.
