The University of Redlands baseball team powered its way to a 14-6 win after seven innings of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Friday afternoon. The Bulldogs jumped on the board early to take a 10-0 lead through two innings and never looked back. 

Following senior infielder Aaron Singh's (Anaheim, CA) run in the first, the Bulldogs' lineup exploded for a nine-run inning in the second. With two outs and two on, senior first baseman Brendan Moore (Murrieta, CA) singled to center field to bring in a pair of runs for a 3-0 lead.    With the bases loaded, the Bulldogs walked in a run and gained another from first-year catcher Sammy Diaz's (Palm Desert, CA) hit-by-pitch to make it 5-0. Immediately after the Stags switched pitchers, first-year designated hitter Alex Olague (Renton, WA) singled to center field for two RBI to extend the lead to 7-0. To keep the momentum rolling, first-year centerfielder Payton Walsh (Santa Ana, CA) knocked a bases-clearing triple with the bases loaded to crack open a 10-0 lead. 

After junior second baseman Andrew Renteria's (Van Nuys, CA) run in the third put the Maroon and Gray up 11-0, CMS made it on the board for its first run of the game.  

Redlands caught fire once again in the top of the sixth by pushing across three runs on a nice two-out rally to build a 14-1 advantage.  

Although the Stags made up five runs in the bottom of the inning, the Bulldogs' victory remained well in hand at 14-6. 

For the game, Moore registered three hits and three RBI, while junior third baseman Anthony Acosta (Simi VAlley, CA) finished with two hits and three RBI. Singh led the game with three runs. 

On the hill, junior pitcher Chris Fousek Jr. (San Diego, CA) tallied two strikeouts in 6.0 quality innings for the win. 

Redlands (6-8, 2-2 SCIAC) continues the series at The Yard on Sunday, March 3, with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
