The University of Redlands baseball team traveled to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Friday to take on the Stags in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match-up. The Bulldogs laced together 14 hits, including four extra-base hits, for a 12-0 domination in seven innings.

The Maroon and Gray struck first by putting up a five-spot in the second inning. With runners on second and third, junior second basemen Will Hall (Seattle, WA) doubled to left center for two runs. Three batters and another run later, senior third basemen Christopher Scalisi (Woodland Hills, CA) lined a shot through the left side for his first of three RBI on the day. Junior first basemen Brendan Moore (Murrieta, CA) capped off the scoring spree with a two-RBI single for Redlands' 5-0 lead.

The Bulldogs added three runs more in each the third inning and the fifth inning for an 11-0 advantage. In the top of the fifth, with one runner on and two outs, junior catcher Rainier Aguilar (San Bernardino, CA) doubled down the left-field line for an RBI. Moore immediately traded places with Aguilar by launching a double to left center for yet another Redlands run.

The Maroon and Gray added its 12th and final run in the top of the six off of a sacrifice fly.

As he had done all game, junior pitcher Felix Minjarez (Riverside, CA) dominated the bottom of the seventh.  After fanning one batter, he forced the groundout for his defense to roll up the double play and end the game in seven innings.

Scalisi finished the day by going 3-for-3 with three RBI, while Minjarez fanned seven in the complete-game shutout.

The Bulldogs (18-10, 9-4 SCIAC) look forward to returning home to The Yard on Saturday, April 1, to face the Stags for an 11 a.m. doubleheader.
