Kyle Sharp and Hannah Jugar Sweep SCIAC Golf Athlete of the Week Awards

Junior Kyle Sharp (Laguna Beach, CA) took the top spot on the men's side while sophomore Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) took the top spot on the women's side at the SCIAC No. 1 Tournament at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura last weekend to help both of their teams to a first-place finish, 585 for the men and 579 for the women.

Sharp hit a solid 71 on day one but returned even more locked in to shave off two strokes for a 69 on day two. He completed the event shooting four-under-par and registered 10 birdies over both days including two on holes two, four, and 14. Sharp was also only one of two golfers to record scores in the 60s.

Jugar landed atop the leaderboard with a winning score of 141. She led the tournament on day one with a second-best in school history round of 67 then paired it with another solid second-day score of 74 to win the event by one stroke. She also recorded a tournament-leading eight birdies, was the only golfer to score in the 60s, and finished the course three-under-par.
