The Bulldogs welcomed Janelle Kratz to the Athletic Training Staff in February 2005. In the spring of 2014, she stepped in as the Interim Head Athletic Trainer and then was named the Head Athletic Trainer in July.

Kratz originally joined the Bulldogs after a two-year stint at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where she served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the NCAA Division II Chargers. She worked with a variety of student-athletes, including the soccer, volleyball, cross country, track & field, tennis, basketball, baseball, softball and Division I ice hockey teams.

Prior to working at UAH, she served as the Head Athletic Trainer for Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio.

Kratz earned her Master of Science from Ohio University in 2002. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. In addition, Kratz boasts certifications in First Aid, CPR, and AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and received her NATABOC certification in June 2001.

This member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) originally hails from Telford, PA, where her family currently resides. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with friends. Kratz resides in Highland.
