Sophomore Tucker Cargile Named SCIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week

The University of Redlands hauled in a pair of Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) athletes of the week for the opening weekend of the 2018-19 competition year.  Sophomore Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO) represented the Bulldogs as the SCIAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his success at the Redlands Invitational. 

Cargile raced to a second-place finish and ranked first among NCAA Division III runners at the Redlands Invitational on Saturday.  He posted a 6k-time of 19:13.5, which improved upon his mark from a year ago by more than 45 seconds.  Finally, Cargile played a critical role in the Bulldogs' second-place team finish during opening weekend.

In addition, sophomore defensive back Carl Holmes (Fresno, CA) was named the SCIAC Defensive Football Athlete of the Week for his contributions during the Bulldogs' 20-12 win over George Fox University.
