Senior Goalkeeper Kelly Grosswendt Nabs Her Second SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week Award for Women's Water Polo

It was announced earlier today that senior goalkeeper Kelly Grosswendt (Newbury Park, CA) has been named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Women's Water Polo Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.  She originally earned this honor for the University of Redlands on February 25.

Grosswendt boasted an impressive .800 save percentage in an 8-2 victory over Occidental College on Wednesday during Senior Night. In 29:08 minutes of action, she made eight stops to limit the Tigers' offense.  She exited the pool before the final whistle as part of the Senior Night celebration.

On the season, Grosswendt has logged more than 1,011 minutes in 24 games while registering 350 saves.

Redlands (13-15, 6-6 SCIAC) takes to the road for the final two games of the regular season, beginning with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Wednesday, April 17, at 7 p.m.
