After defeating Caltech earlier in the day, the University of Redlands women's water polo team traveled to Cal Baptist University for a Saturday evening showdown against the non-conference opponent.  Despite playing the Lancers even in two quarters, the Bulldogs came up short in a 6-12 decision.

Redlands traded scores with the home team through the first period to force a 2-2 tally after eight minutes.  Senior attacker Michelle Na (Mercer Island, WA) and junior attacker Katelyn Jenkins (Bellevue, WA) each found of the back of the net for the Maroon and Gray.

Unfortunately, CBU out-scored the Bulldogs with a 9-3 run over the next two periods to put the game out of reach.  Junior attacker Sami Walker (Taylorsville, UT), junior center Kolby Kahahawai (Kailua, HI), and sophomore attacker Olivia Allen (Santa Monica, CA) each notched goals for Redlands during this stretch.

Entering the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs faced a 5-11 deficit but battled amidst a defensive showdown with limited scoring by both teams.  Walker notched Redlands' only goal of the stanza, while the defense forced two ejections. However, it was not enough to overcome the Maroon and Gray's hole, which resulted in the 6-12 loss.

Junior goalkeeper Allison Totzke (San Bernardino, CA) recorded nine saves in the first half, while junior goalkeeper Kelly Grosswendt (Newbury Park, CA) provided two stops in the final 16 minutes.

Redlands (3-11, 2-1 SCIAC) faces Chapman University in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match on Tuesday, March 13.  The first sprint is slated for 4 p.m. at the Thompson Aquatic Center.
