The No. 31 University of Redlands women's tennis team suffered a shutout loss to the 12th-ranked Polar Bears of Bowdoin College (ME) on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt on Verdieck Courts.

The Bulldogs showed grit and heart but struggled against the talented squad.  The No. 2 doubles tandem of sophomore Karen Kobayashi (Sappora, Japan) and junior Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) took four games of their opponents.  In singles, senior Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR), Kobayashi, and sophomore Lexi Lehman (Scottsdale, AZ) each won five games over their straight-set losses at Nos. 1, 4, and 5, respectively.

Redlands (4-6) strives to return to the win column when it hosts No. 40 Colby College (ME) on Wednesday, March 27, at 3 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.
