The No. 26 University of Redlands women's tennis team hit the road for a unique match at No. 18 UC San Diego on Saturday afternoon.  While competing with NCAA Division I scoring rules, the Bulldogs came up short in a 0-7 loss.

Regardless of the result, the Bulldogs put together valiant efforts in both lineups.  In doubles, senior Kate Dolan (St. Louis, MO) and junior Jackie Lacy (Palm Desert, CA) pushed the No. 3 counterpart to a 7-5 decision.  Lacey continued to impress in singles by forcing a third-set super-breaker en route to a 4-6, 6-0, 10-8 loss at No. 6.  Furthermore, senior Elizabeth Johnson (Portland, OR) took four games off the No. 1 player.

Redlands (0-1) faces No. 19 Brandeis University (MA) on Wednesday, February 20, at 2 p.m. on Verdieck Courts.
