The 19th-ranked University of Redlands women's tennis team squared off against the No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens on a cloudy Saturday in Claremont.  Unfortunately, the Bulldogs suffered a 1-8 loss in the final Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) dual-match of the season.

The Sagehens grabbed a 3-0 lead through solid play in doubles, forcing the Bulldogs to look at a significant comeback.

But, Redlands gained only one point in singles, as senior Natalie Etchegaray (Placentia, CA) prevailed in straight sets at the top slot.  She came out firing to earn a 6-3, 7-6(5) victory over her opponent.

The Bulldogs (14-7, 6-2 SCIAC) look forward to hosting the first round of the SCIAC Championship Tournament on Friday, May 6, at 1 p.m.
