Natalie Turiace named SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week

SCIAC Women's Soccer Weekly Release No. 5

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week in the fifth week of voting and University of Redlands first year midfielder Natalie Turiace (San Dimas, CA) was selected as the Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career. 

Natalie led the University of Redlands to a 1-1 week, which included a 2-0 shut out win against Whittier College.  After being limited in the game against Pomona-Pitzer came up with the game winner against the Poets, coming in the 53rd minute.  It was all set up by Peyton Fendrich (Clackamas, OR) who put a cross into the box finding Taylor Pisan (Redmond, WA) outside the six.  Pisan gained control, while shielding her defender before finding Turiace inside the 18 who then finished inside the left post. 

Turiace finished the game with two shots, her second collegiate goal and a .500 shot percentage.  

Redlands returns to the pitch this Wednesday, October 5 when they host the University of La Verne beginning at 7:00pm under the lights at Farquhar Field.
