THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Soccer team saw their three game winning streak come to a close Saturday in a 2-0 loss to California Lutheran University.

After scoring six goals and allowing just two during their run, the Bulldogs were held scoreless for the first time this season as they drop to 3-4, 3-1 SCIAC.  They still sit atop the conference standings though with nine points ahead of both Cal Lutheran (2-0-1) and Pomona-Pitzer (2-0-1).

Sami Salinas (Foothill Ranch, CA) had the first shot on target of the game coming in the fourth minute to the bottom left corner of the goal, which forced a save from the CLU keeper.

Peyton Fendrich (Clackamas, OR) then got into the mix in the 17th minute, sending a shot that missed right.  After that the Bulldogs were unable to get another look off until the 42nd, which came from Charlie Baum (Hesperia, CA) missing right.  During that span the Regals would find the back of the net in the 28th minute, giving CLU a 1-0 lead at the break.

The first attempt of the second half for the Bulldogs came in the 62nd minute as Tori Zielinski (Sunnyvale, CA) would take a shot that also missed right of the goal.

After not much offense over the final 45:00 minutes, the Regals put the game away with insurance in the 80th. The Bulldogs continued to push late as Celine Akroush (Pasadena, CA) would add the second shot on frame, which forced another save from the Regals keeper.  But that was the last attempt made by UR as CLU would hold on for the 2-0 victory.

Akroush and Baum each had a pair of shots and Courtney Stewart (San Jose, CA) made two saves while playing the full 90:00 minutes. As a team the Bulldogs finished with seven shots with two being on goal.

Redlands stays on the road this Wednesday, September 28 with a game at Pomona-Pitzer set for 4:00pm.
