Bulldog Women's Soccer Lands Four on the All-SCIAC Teams

The 2019 All-Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Women's Soccer Teams were announced Thursday morning and four student-athletes from the University of Redlands earned this end-of-season honor. Junior forward Emily Falla (Woodinville, WA) makes her first appearance as a First-Team selection, while sophomore defender Rilee Mezenen (Salt Lake City, UT), junior midfielder Eva Vlassopoulos (Portland, OR), and senior forward Alexa Groesser (Denver, CO) earned Second-Team recognition.

Falla has consistently generated offense for the Bulldogs with 11 points on a team-high five goals and one assist in 12 conference games. She owns a .414 shots-on-goal percentage while notching two game-winners. She ended the season on a high note with a pair of impressive goals, including the game-winner to help Redlands end the regular season with a 4-2 victory over Whittier College.

Following strong play as a defensive starter in all 12 SCIAC games, Mezenen makes her All-Conference debut with this year's spot on the Second Team. She has helped the Bulldogs maintain a 1.51 goals-against average and completed two shutouts this season.

Vlassopoulos snags her second-consecutive All-Conference award with a productive season as one of the top attackers in all 12 SCIAC games. She finished second on the team with eight points on three goals and two assists while nailing a game-winner at Caltech. She also ended the season well with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 victory against the Whittier Poets in the final game of the regular season.

Rounding out this talented group, Groesser also takes home her inaugural All-SCIAC honor in her third year with the Bulldogs.  She consistently strengthened the Redlands offense in all 12 conference contests this season by tallying three goals and dishing out two assists for eight points. She also owns a .533 shots-on-goal percentage that includes eight shots on target in SCIAC games.
