The University of Redlands women's soccer team faced a tough test on the road against the Cal Lutheran University Regals on Saturday night in the final game of the regular season. The Bulldogs slipped in a 0-4 decision and become the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Postseason Tournament.

Both teams opened the match with solid defense and only gave up one shot through 13 minutes of action. Senior forward Madison Mills (San Ramon, CA) registered the Bulldogs' first shot of the game, but it was saved by the Regals' goalkeeper.

However, CLU snuck in a pair of goals by the 30th minute to take a 2-0 lead.

Redlands picked up the intensity to close out the half with two shots on goal from junior forwards Bryn Anderson (Tahoe City, CA) and Gabby Hart (Sammamish, WA) but to no avail.

The Maroon and Gray entered the second half with the same effort with a solid blast from senior defender Louisa Alstot (Portland, OR) that went high and a shot from first-year midfielder Logan Swim (Issaquah, WA) that was saved. After Swim's shot, the Regals went down and laid a shot on first-year goalkeeper Natalie Hubacz (Grass Valley, CA), who came up with the stop.

Although Hubacz and the Bulldog defense halted the next three attempts, the Regals scored in the 61st minute and again in the 72nd to put this one out of reach for Redlands.

Redlands (9-6-2, 8-4-2) continues its season on Wednesday, October 31, when it travels to top-seeded Pomona-Pitzer Colleges to take on the Sagehens in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament semifinal.
