Celine Flaig named SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week in the tenth week of voting and University of Redlands sophomore attacker Celine Flaig (Redondo Beach, CA) was named the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.

Celine had a big week for the University of Redlands as the Bulldogs went 2-0 with wins over Whittier College (23-15) and California Lutheran University (15-4).  She combined for 11 goals between the two games and three assists.  She also totaled 16 groundballs, 13 draw controls, three caused turnovers and shot 64.7%, which included an 88.2% shot on goal percentage.     

Against Whittier she had three record breaking performances finishing with a career high nine goals, an assist, and 13 groundballs, which now moves her to No. 2 in the University of Redlands record books for goals in a single game (9), she is now tied for first in the record books for points in a single game (10) and is now the program leader in groundballs in a single game (13).     

Redlands has ended their 2022 campaign, posting a 6-10, 5-7 SCIAC record, finishing in a tie for fourth within the conference standings.
