U of R Women's Golf Closes out Fall Season with Fourth-Place Showing at CMS Invite

The University of Redlands women's golf team capped off the fall portion of its season by competing at the CMS Invite on Saturday and Sunday at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills.  While taking on the majority of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and UC Santa Cruz, the Bulldogs finished fourth with a 36-hole tally of 625.

Senior Keilee Bessho (La Canada, CA) provided consistent play for the Maroon and Gray by earning back-to-back rounds of 76 to finish in a tie for fourth place.  She registered five birdies and 19 pars over the weekend outing.

Sophomore Annie Hay (University Place, WA) climbed four spots on the leaderboard to tie for sixth with a two-round total of 154 (78-76) off 25 pars and one birdie. 

In addition, first-year Kendall Nicholson (Bellevue, WA) signed her scorecard with an 80 and 81 to land in a tie for 17th overall.  Her six birdies ranked first on the team and accompanied 11 pars over the 36 holes.

First-year Dana Condon (Palm Desert, CA) and sophomore Mariah Moon (La Quinta, CA) completed the course within one stroke of each other at 165 (85-80) and 166 (78-88), respectively.  While Condon put u 15 pars and two birdies, Moon tallied five birdies and 13 pars.

Finally, sophomores Elise Kiya (Palo Alto, CA) and Makayla Sugidono (Scottsdale, AZ) competed as individuals and earned respective scores of 170 (82-88) and 172 (85-87).

Redlands looks forward to opening the spring season on February 2-3 when it co-hosts the Redlands-CMS Invite at Arrowhead Country Club.
