Senior Caroline Ordian Earns All-Tournament Honors to Highlight Redlands' Showing at Bulldog Women's Golf Classic

Caroline Ordian tees off on day two of the Bulldog Classic.

The University of Redlands women's golf team hosted 20 squads at the second annual Bulldog Classic at Indian Springs Golf Club in Indio on Monday and Tuesday.  Under blustery but sunny conditions on the par-72 course, the Maroon and Gray finished 14th, with senior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) pacing the team with her fourth-place effort.

As a team, the Bulldogs improved on day two by eliminating 14 strokes to finish with a 676 (345-331). 

Ordian fired off an opening-round 73 en route to earning a 151 for fourth place in the individual standings.  She was among the seven-person All-Tournament Team as a result.  Ordian carded five birdies and 19 pars while ranking among the top 12 in scoring for par threes, fours, and fives.

First-year Annie Hay (University Place, WA) climbed 28 spots on the individual leaderboard with a strong final 18 holes.  After shooting a 90 on Monday, she cut 12 strokes to finish in a tie for 49th place with a 168.

First-year Makayla Sugidono (Scottsdale, AZ) also bettered her score on day two with an 83 to move into a tie for 59th place.  In addition, she led the Bulldogs with her par-three scoring at 3.13.

First-years Emily Duncan (Murrieta, CA) and Elise Kiya (Palo Alto, CA) each registered 36-hole tallies of 186 (94-92) to complete the Bulldog competitors.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University of Arizona won the team trophy with a 608 (311-297), with Jessica Williams leading the charge with her medalist honors at 146 (77-69). 

Overall, the top seven players received All-Tournament awards, which included Williams, Nicole Lopes (ERAU), Margeret Loncki (CMS), Ordian, Priscilla Ki (Pomona-Pitzer), Keilee Bessho (HIU), and Briana Morris (Methodist).

The Bulldogs look forward to competing in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 2 on April 7-8 at the Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.
