Senior Caroline Ordian Places Second at SCIAC Tournament No. 1 to Highlight Bulldog Women's Golf Results

The University of Redlands women's golf team took on the competition at the opening Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at Arrowhead Country Club.  Senior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) provided the biggest highlight of the weekend with her second-place performance among the individual leaderboard. 

As a team, the Bulldogs took sixth with a two-round total of 686 (351-335).

Ordian was a model of consistency by scoring a 77 in each round for a 36-hole tally of 154, which was just three strokes off the leader.  Overall, she tallied 18 pars and five birdies.

First-year Elise Kiya (Palo Alto, CA) moved up 12 spots from day one to finish in a tie for 22nd overall.  She shaved off 12 strokes from Saturday's opening round to earn a score of 170 (91-79).  She recorded 10 pars and one birdie on the weekend.

First-years Emily Duncan (Murrieta, CA) and Makayla Sugidono (Scottsdale, AZ) completed their inaugural conference competition just two strokes apart at 180 and 182, respectively.  Duncan shot a 90 each day en route to 13 pars, while Sugidono improved by four strokes (93-89) with eight pars and two birdies over the 36 holes.

First-year Annie Hay (University Place, WA) bettered her second round by seven strokes to sign her scorecard with a 36-hole total of 187 (97-90). 

Redlands heads to Thousand Oaks for the CLU Regals Invitational on Monday, March 12, and Tuesday, March 13, at Sunset Hills Country Club.
