Redlands Women's Golf Takes Fourth at Culturame Classic

The University of Redlands women's golf team competed in its third and final event of the fall portion of the 2017-18 season by traveling to the Culturame Classic in Canby, OR.  While shaving off 16 strokes during the second round on the Willamette Valley Golf Course, the Bulldogs registered a fourth-place finish with a 36-hole score of 666 amidst a talented crew of foes from the West Region.

Senior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) paced the Maroon and Gray with a tied-for-fifth-place performance of 152 (79-73). 

Freshmen Antara Vidyardthi (Portland, OR), Annie Hay (University Place, WA), and Emily Duncan (Murrieta, CA) each recorded both rounds in the 80s to finish among the top 27 of the tournament.  Vidyardthi led the trio with a score of 166 (85-81) for 22nd place, while Hay showed the greatest improvement from day one to day two with a six-stroke drop for a total of 170 (88-82).  Duncan provided consistency with 89s.

In addition, freshman Makayla Sugidono (Scottsdale, AZ) also bettered her score each round to notch a 182 (93-89).

Redlands opens the spring season on Monday, February 5, and Tuesday, February 6, at the Point Loma Reach Tournament at the Riverwalk Country Club in San Diego.
