Senior Women's Golfer Caroline Ordian Takes Home First Place at WNMU Fall Intercollegiate

The University of Redlands women's golf team traveled to Goodyear, AZ, for the Western New Mexico University Fall Intercollegiate at the Golf Club of Estrella to kick off the fall season. Amongst a plethora of NCAA Division II teams, senior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) earned medalist honors with a solid, two-day score of 144 (72-72).

Ordian dazzled on the course by shooting minus one on par fives and even on par-three holes. She led the field with nine birdies over the two days.

Overall, the team finished in 16th place with a 36-hole score of 670 (340-330). Freshman Antara Vidyardthi (Portland, OR) gained experience in her first outing in a Bulldog uniform while shooting a 90 on day one and managed to shave nine strokes off her day-two total for an overall score of 171 (90-81).

Freshman Annie Hay (University Place, WA) followed close behind with a two-day total of 176 (93-83). Freshman Makayla Sugidono (Scottsdale, AZ) and freshman Emily Duncan (Murrieta, CA) rounded out the Redlands competitors by registering scores of 179 (85-94) and 193 (94-99), respectively. Sugidono impressed by shooting one-over on the par-three holes.

The Bulldogs take on Cal Lutheran University in a two-day tournament on Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, at two locations.  Saturday's action will be played at Arrowhead Country Club in San Bernardino while Sunday's competition will take place at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena.
