No. 6 Bulldog Women's Golf Wins SCIAC Tournament No. 2 by 20 Strokes

The No. 6 University of Redlands women's golf team took on the competition at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament No. 2 on Saturday and Sunday at the South Hills Golf Course in West Covina.  With junior Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) leading the charge, the Bulldogs finished atop the leaderboard with a 20-stroke margin by firing off rounds of 303 and 309 for a total of 612.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges finished second at 632, with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges following in third with a tally of 633.

Ordian posted the best opening round of the tournament by signing her scorecard with a 72 before tackling Sunday's 18 holes with great consistency for a 73.  Her two-day total of 145 sent her home with medalist honors by a six-stroke advantage.

Senior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) closely followed her teammate in second place with a 36-hole score of 151 after recording rounds of 76 and 75.  Freshman Jasmine Hsu (Fremont, CA) also impressed at the tournament by posting a 157 (74-83) to tie for sixth place, while senior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) registered an 11th-place showing with a score of 160 (81-79).  Senior Jenna Durette (Oceanside, CA) completed the Bulldogs' lineup with her rounds of 85 and 82 (167) for 23rd place overall.

No other statistics were available at the time of posting.

With four conference rounds now completed, Redlands sits in second (1282), just five strokes behind leader CMS (1277) in the aggregate scoring. 

The Bulldogs look forward to competing in the SCIAC Championship Tournament on Sunday, April 23, through Tuesday, April 25, at Los Serranos Golf Course in Chino Hills.
