No. 7 Redlands Women's Golf Resets Records in Opening Tournament of Fall Season

The No. 7 University of Redlands women's golf team hit the links for its first competition of the 2015-16 season on Monday and Tuesday at the Western New Mexico Invitational in Avondale, AZ. The Bulldogs earned a seventh-place finish, highlighted by a day-one stroke total of 287 which reset the school record for a single-round team total.

Sophomore swinger Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) headlined the Bulldogs' performance by taking home the individual gold medal after tallying a two-round total of 136, which betters the program's standard that she established last year for 36 holes. By carding a 64 on the first day, Ordian also broke the school record for a single round. She holed nine birdies and eight pars to set the pace.

Ordian's day-two total was equally as impressive, maintaining her hold on first place in the individual standings with three birdies and 13 pars for a 72, leaving her eight-under at tournament's end.

In addition, senior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) finished among the top 10, as she tied for 10th place by shooting a 144 (70-74), which included seven birdies and 23 pars over the 36 holes. After starting out the tournament with three bogeys, Dorsey turned her play around to mark an even score throughout the two-day event.

Senior McKenna Pautsch (San Clemente, CA) and junior Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) finished tied for 65th, with each notching a score of 156. Junior Raquel Gordon (Culver City, CA) closely followed with a two-day total of 161.

The Bulldog women's golf team continues the fall portion of its schedule by competing on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, at the Culturame Classic in Portland, OR.
