Redlands Women's Golf Takes Eighth at NCAA Championships in Inaugural Appearance

The No. 6 University of Redlands women's golf team concluded the 2014-15 season with the final round of the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday at the Mission Inn Golf & Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, FL. With El Campeon Golf Course playing tough for everyone, the Bulldogs registered a 338 to finish out the four-day event at 1,138 for eighth place at their inaugural national appearance.

Freshman Caroline Ordian (Palm Desert, CA) served as the Maroon and Gray's top golfer, as she finished in fourth place with a fourth-round score of 82. After hitting par on the opening two holes of the day, Ordian managed to maintain a steady pace by notching two birdies and another par on the front nine. She continued to par four more holes on the back nine to aid her tied-for-fourth place finish with a four-round total of 309. She led the entire field with 48 pars over the course of the tournament.

Senior Dalton Meade (Sandy, OR) finished with an 81 on day four for a total stroke count of 329 at the championships. Meade recorded one birdie and nine pars on the final round. Her efforts landed her tied for 32nd overall.

Junior Amberlynn Dorsey (Highland, CA) signed her scorecard with an 82 on the final round to equal a stroke count of 335 at the tournament. After notching eight pars and one birdie on Friday, she managed to finish tied for 40th in the individual standings. Throughout the event, she recorded seven birdies, which was the most for any Redlands player.

Sophomore Kari Gordon (Culver City, CA) and junior McKenna Pautsch (San Clemente, CA) posted identical scores of 93, with Gordon finishing 67th overall at 351 and Pautsch tying for 77th at 359.

Redlands finishes out the historical campaign with the program's first-ever Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) title and inaugural NCAA appearance.
