REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the 2022 award recipients for Outdoor Track & Field on Tuesday, with the University of Redlands hauling in 23 All-SCIAC performers, the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Year on the women's side and the Dixon Farmer Character Award recipient on the men's side.

Graduate Student Andrea Lyon (Danville, CA) led the Maroon and Grey being named the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Year.  She helped Redlands to eight dual meet points and a second-place finish at the SCIAC Championships and in the overall team standings. Lyon won the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.50 and the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.70. She also ran the anchor leg of the Bulldogs' 4x100-meter relay, which posted a top time of 47.11.

The 2022 Dixon Farmer Character Award went to Tucker Cargile (Denver, CO).  Tucker will leave an enduring legacy at the University of Redlands as one of the most accomplished runners and impactful leaders in program history. On the track, he has earned multiple All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American awards including a runner-up finish in the mile at the 2022 NCAA DIII Indoor Championships.

Cargile recently broke the 46-year-old school records in the 800m and 1500m. A born leader, Tucker is the first person to support, motivate, and congratulate his teammates, something he also extends to competitors and officials. Tucker is now pursuing a master's degree in Organizational Leadership, after graduating with a 3.67 as a Psychology Major. In his free time, Tucker serves as a Maroon and Gray Student Ambassador and as a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Community Service organization. Currently, Tucker is serving as the Assistant Director of Annual Giving, Student-Based Outreach at CMC.

Furthermore, the SCIAC officially honored the All-Conference recipients.
